REFUND POLICY

This Refund Policy outlines the conditions under which refunds will be issued for team registrations, showcase entries, and other league-related payments. By registering for any MASC season or event, you agree to the terms of this policy.

REFUND POLICY 

1. Seasonal Registration (Fall, Spring, or Summer)
MASC allows teams to register for one season at a time. Registration includes scheduling, administrative costs, and team access to standings and events. Refunds will be issued under the following conditions:
Before the Season Schedule is Released

  • A team withdrawing before the official schedule is released is eligible for a refund minus a $50 administrative fee.

  • Requests must be submitted in writing to masc@dmvdream.org with the team name and reason for withdrawal.

After the Schedule is Released

  • No refunds will be issued for team withdrawals after the schedule is released, except in cases where:

    • MASC cannot schedule the full number of games paid for, in which case a prorated refund will be issued.

    • A team is removed by MASC due to unforeseen eligibility or compliance issues (partial refund may be granted at MASC's discretion).

2. Showcase & Tournament Registration
All showcase and tournament entry fees are non-refundable, with limited exceptions:

  • If the event is canceled by MASC and cannot be rescheduled, a partial refund will be issued based on unrecoverable costs already incurred (e.g., field rental, staffing).

  • If a team withdraws voluntarily from a showcase or tournament for any reason, no refund will be provided.

  • If an event is rescheduled, and a team cannot attend the new date, a 50% refund may be issued upon request.

3. Weather-Related Cancellations

  • Games canceled due to weather are expected to be rescheduled by both teams. MASC will work with both sides to facilitate this.

  • If a game cannot be rescheduled and no suitable replacement opponent is available, a prorated refund will be issued for that unplayed doubleheader.

4. Partial Seasons & Forfeits

  • If a team fails to complete its scheduled games due to voluntary withdrawal or forfeiture, no refund will be issued for missed games.

  • If another team forfeits or is removed from the schedule and a replacement cannot be found, MASC will issue a prorated refund to the impacted team.

5. How to Request a Refund
To request a refund, teams must submit an email to masc@dmvdream.org with the following information:

  • Team name and age division

  • Season or event registered for

  • Reason for refund request

  • Date of original payment

All refund requests will be reviewed within 14 business days, and eligible refunds will be issued via the original payment method whenever possible.
6. Non-Refundable Fees
The following fees are non-refundable under any circumstance:

  • Administrative processing fees

  • Umpire/plate fees paid directly by teams

  • Any third-party payment processing surcharges

  • Late fees or penalties applied due to non-compliance

7. Force Majeure
MASC is not liable for delays, changes, or cancellations due to circumstances beyond our control, including but not limited to weather emergencies, facility closures, acts of God, pandemics, or public health orders. Refunds or credits in these situations will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
